Junto: Today
Junto has continued to progress and develop since its launch in 2004. There have been 6 classes, 25 Junto Partners and over 75 participants. Many of those companies are continuing to grow and develop and the Junto Partners are becoming successful business leaders in their respective careers. The curriculum has been fine tuned to help these young entrepreneurs learn a great deal about themselves and entrepreneurship. In partnership with Alan Hall, Founder of Marketstar and Managing Director at Mercato Partners, the program has been able to influence many young entrepreneurs. In 2008, in addition to the program's focus on grooming young entrepreneurs, the community will be invited to attend the 7 evening classes held in Salt Lake City.
The program will be held between 6-9pm at the Salt Lake City library beginning May 6, 2008. Applications will be accepted through April 30, 2008. Please apply now or e-mail jgrover@mercatopartners.com if you wish to attend the classes.
The Goal:
• Identify and select leading candidates who possess the qualities critical to becoming successful entrepreneurs.
• Empower entrepreneurs with training, networks and access to capital to launch high growth businesses.
• Identify business opportunities using a refined and thorough methodology.
• Build companies that require a minimal capital, can effectively enter the market and take advantage of market shifts and growth opportunities.
The Junto program is also designed to lead you through a journey of self discovery regarding your true aptitude to be a successful entrepreneur. By working through the content and materials of the program, you will see more clearly your inherent attributes that will contribute to your success as an entrepreneur. And you will also become painfully aware of your limitations which will need to be addressed if you hope to succeed. The goal of Junto is not to give people jobs; it is to provide an environment where entrepreneurs can create their own valuable businesses. The program is designed to emphasize what really matters to your success as an entrepreneur, to help you sort through the "fluff" of starting a business and to clearly understand what activities and strategies will make a difference in startup success.
