A DYNAMIC, HANDS-ON

ENTREPRENEUR EXPERIENCE

Junto isn't about money and it isn't about free office space. Junto focuses on education, but not the kind you get from a textbook. It's not so much about learning from others as it is about learning from your own experience. Junto teaches strategies that turn good ideas into good opportunities.

Bright Idea

Greg Warnock

Since 2004 Junto has helped entrepreneurs discover what it takes to be successful. Junto has become a badge of honor - even a right of passage for Utah’s entrepreneurs. The Junto program has trained over 300 entrepreneurs from St. George to Logan and continues this tradition of education as the Junto Opportunity Institute. Junto is a six-week series taught by serial entrepreneur and principal investor Greg Warnock. Entrepreneurship really is best learned by doing it and that's why the Junto approach is anchored in application. It's real world, get it done, make a difference type entrepreneurship. We share, discuss and discover the tactical skills that help entrepreneurs win.

It is free to attend the Spring 2011 Junto series. There is a cost associated with the electronic Junto curriculum, workbook and video content. All proceeds are reinvested in expanding the program and reaching more entrepreneurs. Just think of it as a way to pay it forward for others that will participate in the future.

The original Junto was founded in 1727 by Benjamin Franklin as a structured forum for brainstorming, problem solving, service and networking. Today's Junto isn’t just about networking. It’s about a building “personal” network. It’s about knowing people and knowing people you can trust. There’s something authentic, real and honest about the whole Junto experience that creates lasting relationships. Today, the Junto community includes hundreds of entrepreneurs who share a perspective and approach to starting businesses.

The Founder

Junto is a program I launched in 2004 to support entrepreneurs in pursuit of their dreams.  It is designed to identify entrepreneurs with the greatest probabilities of success. Junto provides experiences and training; and high-level networking and mentoring.  It is a community designed to mitigate the structural risks of entrepreneurship. Junto provides this opportunity to all entrepreneurs but with a focus on the younger demographic, many who are just completing their college education. The program is perfect for those looking to learn more about entrepreneurship and expand their networks.

Entrepreneurship can solve problems, create value, unlock human potential, improve lives and foster independence and confidence. However, it is a career choice with its own risks. Sometimes results can include financial losses, loneliness, public failure and marital stress. These are the risks of entrepreneurship that are not so celebrated in the popular press. By addressing some fundamental characteristics of typical entrepreneurship, the Junto approach hopes to mitigate some of these risks.

In partnership with Alan Hall, Founder of Marketstar and Managing Director at Mercato Partners, we will be teaching our 9th series this year and have shared this experience and education with hundreds of entrepreneurs. We hope you will join us.
